New Lucky Charm

So, the week before was same old same old, classes, homework, went to town with J.H. and bought shoes. This week started out a bust: school, testss, homework, and nobody wanted to do anything with me on Friday night and the Internet in our room was still broken. I was sitting in the dark by myself and feeling depressed to I went to the post store and window shopped for a couple hours before deciding to buy a ring from the ring lady who has a Jewelery stand there every couple days. Then I went back to my room and moped before crappy Internet and hunger forced me to go to the hobson (the hangout on post that serves pizza and beer and ha wireless Internet). I sat by myself and watched a movie on the netflix on my iPad. Then I got hungry so I wondered into the cafe area where all the people I knew were on their fifth drink and loopy as all get out, the girls ha mustaches and the guys had unibrows. It was weird.

I ate some pizza and was just starting to think about leaving when this guy from across the room joined our group and we started talking an drawing horrible maps of America and Asia on a greassy paper plate. Then we decided to go for a walk and talk and wound up walking down the hill off post to the beach. By then it was past midnight and I suggested we start a bonfire. We didn't have any matches or firewood but I said if we just walk down the beach we can find some wood and steal someo else's fire. We found. Ton of firewood first thing from someone's old bonfire and a little ways further down someone ha dugg a firepit in the sand and it still ha coals in it. He wa Leary about being able to start a fire but I said all you do with coals is throw on some kindling and blow on them and you get instant fire. So that's what it did. I started that bonfire in three seconds flat. It was really impressive. Not so impressive was grabbing that leftover firewood in the dark without realizing it was covered in soot. My shirt got filthy. I tried to wash my hands in the ocean but this wave came and my shoes got full of water.

I also found some girl's phone that she'd come back looking for as soon as she asks if I'd seen it. So then Z and I spent three hours talking in front of the fire and he asked me to go to a movie with him the next day (which is today). On the way back to post some random car pulle over and asked I we needed a ride. Turns out it was the DD (drunk driving car that volunteers every weekend to pick military people up from bars so they don't have to drive) and they had some extra room so we didn't have to hike all the way up the hill. That ring I bought is my new lucky charm.

Nobody Loves Me Everybody Hates Me Guess I'll Eat Some Worms... Or a Taco

So, I think it's official that nothing is gonna happen with me and that guy, especially seein as how he hasn't said more than two words to me all week. Our same group just went to a movie and while the other two were all huggy kissy he hardly even looked at me and didn't talk to me at all. I feel slightly put out. At least I got free cab fare and due to a slight mix up at the restaraunt free dinner. Still, it makes me wonder if I'm really that unappealing or if he's just exceptionally obtuse. If the government really shuts down like they say it might I'll not only be broke but so will every guy here. So much for anyone buying me dinner then. I've decided that all the guys here are idiots despite their test scores and I'm never gonna find a boyfriend because anyone good enough for me probably did the smart thing and inherrited a ton of money and bought a castle in britian somewhere so I'll never have the chance to meet him. Which is really too bad when you think about it, who could possibly be happy living in a fancy castle all by their lonesome without me. It's probably for the best though, I hear castles tend to be drafty.

The Beach at Night

Haven't written in Forever, so here's a quick update since a month ago. After I got my wisdom teeth out and started class I basically went from my room to school and back with the occasional stop at the post store in between. Most of my time is spent on homework. I did watch a bunch of movies on netflix last weekend and found some funky online game with flying cats. I past my pt test yesterday morning. This weekend was the first time I've been off post since I was allowed to wear civillian clothes and didn't have a curfew. I wound up going out with this other gal T and a couple guys from my class. We went and saw that new movie Rango, which I thought was funny but maybe not worth ten bucks to see once. More like 99 cent rental. I wound up buying a fleece poncho and after me and Mar went looking for sea lions down on the pier we all went to the beech and built a fire. It took me forever but I finally found some wood that was big enough to burn proper.





Those other two wanted to actually sleep on the beach all night so we made a go of lying on the blanket in the sand untill two thirty in the morning before me and Mar decided to heck with it and walked around looking for a hotel. We stopped at like ten places before we found someplace affordable with a two bed room. It's got a tv but I haven't watched tv since before basic so I just don't care to watch anything. Going to see about breakfast now (and just so nobody freaks out I said separate beds, and just friends.)
