I just finished reading New Tricks, the second book in the Dog Days series. It had such a horrible ending. The main chick turned out to be the bad guy and dissolved into a mass of lesions, sores, and horrible pustules at the end before dying. It got me thinking about how many books I've read of late have the main character or bad guy dissolving into sores and grossness, either through disease, backfired magic, or torture. At least three that I can think of off the top of my head. And those Poe horror stories we have to read for class aren't much better. Just once I wish I could read a story that doesn't involve pain and grossness. Seriously, whatever happened to the good old fashioned happy ending? Although, I must admit, even the ones you think have happy endings turn out not to if you look into the originals too closely. I dread getting to the end of Robin Hood. Maybe I'll just skip that last chapter and pretend it really does end with Robin and Maid Marian getting married and living happily ever after. Ignorance being bliss and all that.

Whatever Happend to the Happy Ending?
Boy, it's been ages since I last posted something. I had two tests last week which I hopefully passed. Aside from class and homework I haven't done a whole heck of a lot, not that I did much homework either. I figured out what was wrong with the VCR in the dorm basement. Turns out some idiot unplugged the jacks and then plugged them back into the input in section instead of the input out section. J.F. and I watched the first two hours of the Dune miniseries I had on tape. J.F. also came up with me when I went home this weekend. We went with my mom to do so me shopping up in Ely. We didn't buy much, I got a Robin Hood graphic novel at the book store and J.F. and I got some dice with animals on them. We had planned on going fishing but the weather had been lousy all week, rain, wind, cold. It was still raining when I drove back last night. It didn't rain much today though.
