To Steal a Phrase
I forgot my wallet in my room yesterday so my maunta had to buy me lunch. Maunta is my new name for my mom's friend P.S. who's kind of like a mom, an aunt, and a grandma combined. I even wrote a poem that I may post a link to later on. I haven't gotten around to typing it yet. I had another test today, this one on the early history of homo sapiens and other hominids. Boring but I think I did o.k. on it. Most of it was matching with a word bank. I got complimented on my boots today. See, they weren't such a frivolous waste of money after all. I read the first hundred pages or so of Moby Dick. Apparently the first hundred or so pages are plot, most of the middle is philosophy, and then towards the very end it picks back up on plot again. Not sure I'm going to like the middle at all. The book was a total flop when it first came out. I suppose I'll soon see why but for the moment the beginning is o.k. with lots of humor, especially that cannibal. He's just so delightfully contradictory (to steal a phrase from a classmate). In case I forget to post again I will be heading home for the weekend tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will be nice. It's been cold and either snowy or rainy all week.
